DepEd Partners Applauded for "Unending Support" in MATATAG Agenda
Pasay City, Philippines - Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte lauded DepEd's partners on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 recognizing their "invaluable contribution and support" in realizing the agency's ambitious MATATAG Agenda.
"May you continue investing in the dreams of Filipino children, as they will soon be part of our workforce that will contribute to the development of our nation," VP-Secretary Duterte emphasized during the Partners' Recognition and Appreciation program.
Over 170 partners, including national embassies, NGOs, research institutes, and private companies, received plaques for their diverse contributions. Duterte specifically commended their efforts during the Brigada Eskwela program, ensuring conducive learning environments for returning students.
"With your interventions and the help of our volunteers, we were able to welcome back our learners in an enabling learning environment," she acknowledged.
The Vice President also extended her gratitude for support during National Teachers' Month celebrations, recognizing partners who provided "perks" and appreciation opportunities for educators.
"Another bayanihan is the celebration of National Teachers' Month last year, as we came together to provide teachers with the recognition and support they deserve," she stated.
Concluding her remarks, Duterte urged continued collaboration on key intervention programs for teachers and learners. "We have more commitments for the teachers and learners, and we do not want to disappoint them," she declared.
The event served as a testament to the vital role partnerships play in shaping the future of Philippine education. With continued support, the MATATAG Agenda aims to ensure a "Makapag-aral, Talino, Aktibo, Galing, at responsableng mamamayan" (Learned, Talented, Active, Proficient, and Responsible Citizen) for every Filipino child.
