Celebrate the Richness of Filipino Cuisine this Filipino Food Month!
MANILA, Philippines - It's Filipino Food Month! The entire month of April is dedicated to celebrating the vast and flavorful cuisine of the Philippines. From the bounty of our lands and seas to the creativity of Filipino kitchens, Filipino food is a tapestry woven with regional specialties and unique cooking styles.
Spearheaded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Tourism, and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement, this year's Filipino Food Month carries the theme "Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago" (Filipino Ingenuity, Strength of the Modern Youth). This theme emphasizes the importance of empowering young Filipinos to be stewards of the country's rich culinary heritage.
The celebration coincides with Presidential Proclamation No. 469, which officially declared April as Filipino Food Month, also known as Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino.
