First Female Aeta Licensed Criminologist Honored by NCIP and PRC

April 13, 2024 - In a significant event held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Ms. Lady Anne G. Duya, the first female Aeta to pass the Licensure Examination for Criminologists, was recognized by the Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Criminology and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).

The PRB of Criminology awarded Ms. Duya a Special Certificate in recognition of her remarkable achievement. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the representation of the Aeta community in the field of criminology.

In addition, the NCIP, through its Office on Education, Culture, and Health (OECH) Director, Engr. Mary Grace P. Buasen, and Education and Culture Development Division (ECDD) Chief, Ms. Jordine Rose R. Ocon, also honored Ms. Duya with a Certificate of Recognition. Tokens of appreciation were presented to Ms. Duya, symbolizing the pride and joy of the Aeta community and the entire nation.

Furthermore, a set of Coffee Table Books was turned over to the PRB of Criminology, signifying the continuous support and collaboration between the NCIP and the PRB.

This event not only celebrates Ms. Duya’s personal achievement but also highlights the potential and capabilities of the Aeta community, inspiring many young Aetas to pursue their dreams and break barriers.
