It’s Official: April 10 Declared as National Holiday for Eid’l Fitr

In a landmark proclamation, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has officially declared Wednesday, 10 April 2024, as a regular holiday across the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Fitr, the Feast of Ramadhan. This declaration is in accordance with Republic Act No. 9177, which amends section 26, Chapter 7, Book I of Executive Order No. 292.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended this date to honor the end of Ramadhan, the holy month of fasting. The proclamation aims to recognize the religious and cultural significance of Eid’l Fitr and to unite the Filipino nation in solidarity with the Muslim community during this festive time.

President Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of this observance in fostering peace and harmony among all Filipinos. The official document was signed and the seal of the Republic of the Philippines affixed in Manila on this 4th day of April, in the year 2024.
