Public Warning Issued by the Office of Civil Defense Against Fraudulent Transactions

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has issued a stern warning to the public against transacting with brokers and fixers who are fraudulently using the agency’s name, its officers, or Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno. These unscrupulous individuals are reportedly involved in transactions concerning agency procurement and NDRRMF funding applications, making their activities appear legitimate by using forged, falsified, or fictitious documents.

“We would like to caution everyone against the unscrupulous activities of these individuals. We urge the public to be vigilant and not to fall prey to their schemes,” said Usec. Nepomuceno.

The OCD has reminded the public that all transactions and issuance of any documents from the agency are processed through its official channels and authorized personnel only. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious transactions to the agency and authorities.

In a proactive move, the agency has sought the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate and apprehend these alleged scammers.

The OCD maintains full transparency in its operations. For procurement matters and NDRRMF applications, the public is advised to visit the official OCD website at https://www.ocd.gov.ph.
