Vice President Sara Duterte Leads Eid al-Fitr Celebration with Food Pack Distribution to Mothers
In a heartwarming act of solidarity, Vice President Sara Duterte spearheaded the distribution of food packs to mothers during the Eid al-Fitr celebration at the Manila Golden Mosque and Cultural Center in Quiapo, Manila. This initiative, held on April 8, was part of the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) efforts to engage with the Muslim community during the “festival of breaking the fast.”
Eid al-Fitr is a significant religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It is a time for joy, forgiveness, and unity among the faithful.
The OVP’s gesture of distributing 500 Eid al-Fitr food packs to the mothers of Barangay 384 was a tribute to their role in nurturing culture and tradition, as well as their societal contributions. Senator Francis Tolentino joined Vice President Duterte in this commendable endeavor.
In her address, Vice President Duterte highlighted the crucial influence mothers have in motivating the youth to prioritize their education. The event was also supported by notable figures such as Administrator Sultan Abdusalam I. Magarang, Grand Imam Jalal Jamil, Kagawad Almaida R. Sharief, and Kagawad Awal A. Sharief.
