DepEd to Equip SHS-TVL and JHS-SPTVE Teachers with Training Skills

The Department of Education (DepEd), through the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) and the Bureau of Learning Delivery-Teaching and Learning Division (BLD-TLD), is set to conduct a Batch 3 Training on Trainers Methodology (TM) Level I for Senior High School-Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (SHS-TVL) and Junior High School-Special Program for Technical-Vocational Education (JHS-SPTVE) teachers.

The training program, happening from April to August 2024 at TESDA Training Centers nationwide, aims to equip these teachers with the skills and knowledge to effectively train future generations in technical and vocational fields.

What will the training cover?

  • Planning and facilitating training sessions, including the use of e-Learning tools.
  • Supervising work-based learning experiences.
  • Conducting competency assessments.
  • Maintaining training facilities.
  • Utilizing electronic media for training purposes.

Who can participate?

  • SHS-TVL and JHS-SPTVE teachers nominated by their respective Regional Offices (ROs) and Schools Division Offices (SDOS)
  • Must hold a valid National Certificate (NC) II or III (valid until at least 2025)
  • Below 50 years old
  • Have not undergone any previous TM I training
  • Physically, mentally, and emotionally fit for a 33-day training program

What are the expectations for participants?

  • Complete the TM I training program.
  • Pass the National Assessment after the training.
  • Implement a Workplace Application Plan in TVL after program completion.

How to Apply?

  • SHS-TVL and JHS-SPTVE teachers should submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to their respective SDO-TVL EPS/Focal Person. (Deadline and format to be determined by SDO)
  • Consolidated LOIs will be forwarded to the RO-CLMD for validation and selection. (March 11, 2024 deadline)
  • Shortlisted nominees will then submit additional documents to the RO-HRDD for final approval. (March 20, 2024 deadline)

Important Reminders:

  • Qualified participants are required to bring their own laptops, chargers, and extension cords.
  • Expenses will be charged against RO-downloaded funds, with some exceptions for travel and personnel costs.
  • Participating teachers will be entitled to service credits or compensatory time-off, depending on their role.
  • No Disruption of Classes Policy must be observed.
