July 27, 2024 - The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued Memorandum No. 037, s. 2024, establishing a Task Force to review the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS) and assess teachers' workload.
The memorandum aims to streamline processes, improve the system, and reduce the reportorial burden on teachers.
Key Points:
- The Task Force is composed of an Advisory Board and a Technical Working Group (TWG).
- The Advisory Board will provide direction and approve recommendations from the TWG before submitting them to the Office of the Secretary (OSec).
- The TWG is responsible for reviewing the RPMS, assessing teacher workload, and proposing a streamlined system for report preparation.
- The TWG will gather information through brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, and interviews.
- The review aims to identify policy gaps, analyze existing data, and recommend solutions to address critical issues.
- The Task Force must submit a comprehensive policy recommendation to the OSec within three months.
- The Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD) will serve as the TWG Secretariat.
- Funding for the Task Force's activities will come from the General Management and Supervision funds.
