Manila Teachers' Mutual Aid System, Inc. was founded on October 9, 1975 at General Luna Street, San Agustin, Malabon City.

For the past 39 years, MTMAS has made a huge difference in its members' lives and continues to be bulwark of stability and strength. Today MTMAS employs more than 100 employees all over the country.

Manila Teachers’ Mutual Aid System, Inc (MTMAS) was conceptualized in the late 1960’s as a Mutual Fund for deceased teacher-members of Manila Teachers’ Savings and Loan Association.

It started as a donation in the form of financial assistance to assist the family of a deceased member coming from its mutual death aid fund. At that time, all active members were required to contribute P1.00 to the said fund whenever a member dies and this was given to the beneficiary of the deceased member. This is in addition to the P1.00 contribution by members collected by the company’s treasurer to increase the fund. This is the reserve fund readily given to the family of a deceased member.

To date, the fixed amount given to the beneficiary of a deceased member is already P35,000.00.
