GSIS to Launch New Health Insurance Program for Members
In a move to enhance the welfare of its members, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is poised to introduce a novel health insurance program offering living benefits. This initiative, slated for launch before the second quarter of the year, was announced during the recent Stakeholders’ Dialogue at Oscar’s in the Eugenio Lopez Center, Antipolo, Rizal.
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso revealed that the program is currently undergoing final revisions. “We are in the last stages of refining the program’s guidelines,” Veloso stated. The program aims to alleviate the financial burden on members who face critical illnesses by providing a lump sum of PHP250,000, without necessitating additional premiums.
The covered critical illnesses include heart attack, cancer, stroke, liver failure, kidney failure, and pulmonary disease. “With the rising cost of commodities, this program could significantly aid our members by offering them greater benefits,” Veloso remarked.
The proposal is expected to be presented to the GSIS Board of Trustees next month, with immediate implementation upon approval. Veloso assured stakeholders of GSIS’s commitment to improving the lives of its members through this and other initiatives.
