Advanced Missile System Deployed for Salaknib 24
April 16, 2024 - In a groundbreaking feat, the US Army’s Mid-Range Capability (MRC) makes its first deployment in the Philippines for Salaknib 24. The missile system was deployed by the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force (1MDTF) to Northern Luzon, Philippines, on April 11, 2024.

This pivotal deployment signifies a major advancement in capabilities, bolstering interoperability, readiness, and defense prowess in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The 1MDTF’s MRC is a land-based missile system designed to launch from the ground and significantly enhance multi-domain fires.
This versatile launcher can fire two powerful missiles: the Standard Missile 6 (SM-6) and the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM). A complete MRC unit includes a battery operations center, four launchers, transport vehicles, and specialized trailers.
Exercise Salaknib 24 serves as a direct reinforcement to the objectives set forth by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and U.S. Army Pacific, aimed at augmenting bilateral U.S. land power capabilities for joint operations.
