BIR Urges Taxpayers to File Annual Income Tax Returns Before Deadline

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is issuing a reminder to all taxpayers to file their 2023 Annual Income Tax Return (AITR) and settle any tax due by the upcoming deadline of April 15, 2024. With just a week remaining, the BIR encourages taxpayers to avoid the last-minute rush and ensure timely compliance with tax obligations.

To assist taxpayers in the filing process, the BIR has made available a series of webinars tailored to different categories of income earners. These webinars provide guidance on the AITR filing and payment process for:

  • Employees earning purely compensation income and mixed income earners.
  • Self-employed individuals and sole proprietors.
  • Corporations and partnerships, with a live stream scheduled for April 11, 2024.

The BIR has also specified the forms applicable to various taxpayer categories, including employees with multiple employers, non-resident aliens, individuals with business income, mixed income earners, estates, trusts, and those opting for standard or flat-rate deductions. These forms are accessible through the Offline eBIRForms Package v7.9.4.2.

For further assistance, taxpayers can reach out to the Customer Assistance Division at the provided telephone number or engage with ‘Revie’, the BIR’s online customer service representative.

This reminder is part of the BIR’s ongoing efforts to facilitate a smooth and efficient tax filing experience, promoting timely compliance and contributing to the nation’s progress.
