On Friday, April 26, 2024, a 14-year-old student named Jacquilene Reponte was tragically killed in her home in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, Cebu. The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. while Jacquilene was answering her learning modules.
An unidentified individual reportedly entered their rented home and shot Jacquilene in the head. The bullet hit her in the cheek and exited on the other side. Despite being rushed to the Cebu South Medical Center in Talisay City, the attending physician pronounced her dead.
According to Jacquilene’s sister, the victim was doing homework when an unknown individual entered their house and shot her in the head for no apparent reason. The culprit quickly fled the scene. The Talisay City Police Station is currently conducting an investigation to identify the culprit.
