DOJ Calls for Unconditional Surrender of Pastor Quiboloy Amidst Charges
In a recent post, the Department of Justice (DOJ) of the Philippines has called for the unconditional surrender of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, who faces charges under the Anti-Child Abuse Law. The Davao Regional Trial Court has issued a warrant for his arrest on allegations of sexual abuse of minors and maltreatment.
According to the DOJ, the evidence against Quiboloy is substantial, with direct proof supporting all elements of the offenses charged. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boying Remulla has assured Quiboloy’s safety while reminding him that the law spares no one, regardless of their status or position.
Secretary Remulla has emphasized the gravity of the charges, describing them as serious and morally reprehensible, involving sexual assault of a minor and human trafficking. Quiboloy, who has previously insisted on legal proceedings, now stands accused and is urged to face the charges in court to present his defense.
The DOJ is also anticipating another warrant of arrest for qualified trafficking to be issued by the Pasig Regional Trial Court. The public awaits further developments as the case progresses.
