DSWD Warns Public Against Misleading Facebook Post
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has issued a public warning against a misleading Facebook post claiming that the department will once again provide ‘educational assistance’ to students. The DSWD clarified that there are no definite details yet as to when the educational assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program will commence.
Meanwhile, the DSWD has introduced the Tara, BASA! Tutoring Program, a reformatted educational assistance initiative. This program utilizes the Cash-for-Work (CFW) intervention to aid low-income families in difficult situations.
The DSWD encourages everyone to report this Facebook account, which is using the DSWD’s identity without permission and spreading misleading content about the agency’s programs.
The public is urged to scrutinize and verify the information they read online. They are advised not to trust and not to be deceived by content that does not come from credible and reliable sources to avoid falling victim to scams.
The DSWD stands firm in its fight against misinformation, emphasizing that fake news is not tolerated in the department. The public is encouraged to join in this fight to ensure that only accurate and truthful information is disseminated.
