Metro Manila Resident Hits PHP222-Million Grand Lotto 6/55 Jackpot
April 14, 2024 - A solitary bettor from Metro Manila has become an overnight millionaire after hitting the PHP222-million jackpot of the Grand Lotto 6/55 on Saturday night.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), in an advisory released on Sunday, confirmed that the lucky bettor had correctly guessed the winning combination 17-26-30-39-14-07, which carried a total jackpot of PHP222,993,453.20.
The winning ticket was purchased at an outlet located in Grace Park, Caloocan City.
In addition to the jackpot winner, 36 other bettors won PHP100,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits. A further 1,831 bettors will receive PHP1,500 each for correctly guessing four digits, and 35,982 will receive PHP60 each for three correct digits.
Winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes, as stipulated in Republic Act 1169 or the law on PCSO lotteries. All jackpot prizes must be claimed at the PCSO main office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
Winners are required to write their names and signatures on the back of the winning tickets and present two government-issued identification cards or documents.
It should be noted that Lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 are subject to a 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.
The Grand Lotto 6/55 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
The PCSO urges the public to continue patronizing their games, as a significant portion of the revenues is allocated to charity programs.
