NGCP Announces Potential Manual Load Dropping in Several Areas Today

April 16, 2024 - The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced that it may implement Manual Load Dropping (MLD) in several areas today, April 16, to maintain the integrity of the power system. The potential MLD is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the following areas:

  • INEC (parts of Ilocos Norte)
  • ISELCO 1 (parts of Isabela)
  • OEDC (parts of Olongapo City)
  • CAGELCO 2 (parts of Cagayan)
  • BATELEC 1 (parts of Batangas)

The NGCP has stated that the schedule may be cancelled if the system condition improves, such as if the actual demand falls below projections. In light of this, the NGCP is encouraging everyone in these areas to exercise prudence in using electricity.

The NGCP is committed to ensuring the stability of the power system and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
