No Face-to-Face Class: Public Schools to Implement Distance Learning on April 8
In a significant move to support students in completing their academic responsibilities, the Department of Education has announced that all public schools across the country will shift to asynchronous classes and distance learning on Monday, April 8, 2024. This decision aims to provide learners with ample time to finalize their pending assignments, projects, and other academic requirements.
Furthermore, in line with this advisory, both teaching and non-teaching staff of public schools are exempted from reporting to their respective stations on the said date. This measure ensures that the educational workforce can also manage their tasks without the need for physical presence at school facilities.
While this directive is strictly applicable to public educational institutions, private schools are not mandated to follow suit. However, they are given the autonomy to adopt similar measures should they choose to do so.
This temporary shift to remote learning underscores the department’s commitment to flexible education strategies, catering to the diverse needs of the student population during crucial times of the academic year.
