Philippines Intensifies Fight Against Workplace Sexual Harassment

In a landmark move to create a safer and more productive work environment, the Philippine government is ramping up efforts to combat gender-based sexual harassment in the workplace. Recognizing the critical need for a safe space at work, authorities are implementing robust measures to prevent harassment and protect workers who have experienced or are experiencing such misconduct.

The public is invited to tune into the program “TINIG” to hear from esteemed officials Atty. Alvin B. Curada, Director IV of the Bureau of Working Conditions, and Ms. Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, Director IV of the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns. Both representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment will discuss the pressing issue of gender-based sexual harassment in the workplace.

The broadcast is scheduled for April 12, 2024, from 2:00-3:00pm on Radyo Pilipinas 738 kHz. Viewers can also watch the program on TV Channel 3 on TVPlus and Channels 45-49 on Affordabox. Additionally, the program will be live-streamed on the Facebook pages of the PCW and Radyo Pilipinas.

This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to uphold the dignity and rights of all workers, ensuring that gender-based discrimination and harassment have no place in the modern workplace.
