President Marcos Urges Unity and Compassion in Eid’l Fitr Celebrations

On April 10, 2024, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid’l Fitr, urging them to build a society rich in love, prosperity, and compassion. In a heartfelt message, the President emphasized the significance of Eid’l Fitr as a time for spiritual renewal and reflection following a month of prayer, sacrifice, and penance.

President Marcos highlighted the festival as a moment of rededication to a life of discipline, dignity, and grace. He called upon the Muslim faithful to embody humility, peace, and strength, serving as beacons of inspiration for the nation as it faces various challenges.

The President’s prayers were with the community, seeking Allah’s wisdom and fortitude to continue fostering harmony and compassion within homes and across communities. He expressed hope that despite diverse beliefs, the nation would remain united in its pursuit of progress and resilience.

In his concluding remarks, President Marcos envisioned a society where love overcomes indifference, faith dispels doubt, and unity triumphs over division. He wished for the fulfillment of the deepest desires of the heart, extending an Eid Mubarak to all.

To honor the religious and cultural importance of Eid’l Fitr and promote national unity, President Marcos declared April 10 a regular holiday through Proclamation No. 514, inviting all Filipinos to join in solidarity with the Muslim community.
