The Examination

The Physician Licensure Examination was conducted on April 7-8 and 14-15, 2024. The examination centers were spread across various locations, including Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

The exam covered a wide range of medical subjects, including Biochemistry, Anatomy and Histology, Microbiology and Parasitology, Physiology, Legal Medicine, Ethics and Medical Jurisprudence, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Surgery and Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Rhinology, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Nutrition, and Preventive Medicine and Public Health.

What’s Next?

For the new passers, the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on May 16, 2024. The registration process will be done online through the official PRC website.

The Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine Inc. is located in Cebu City, Philippines. Specifically, the campus is situated at R. Duterte St., Sitio Banawa, Brgy. Guadalupe. The campus comprises a 10-storey main building and a 6-storey annex building. Before relocating to its current location, MHAM was temporarily located at Redemptorist Plaza, Brgy. Camputhaw, Cebu City.

History and Vision

The college was established in the summer of 1946, during the country’s rehabilitation from the destruction of World War II. The founders, Don Matias Hipolito Aznar II and his wife Doña Anunciacion Barcenilla Aznar, who were pharmacists by profession, envisioned a school of medicine that is within the reach of the common people.

In the school year 1946-1947, the Doctor of Medicine Program was opened with fourteen pioneering students and six faculty members. Full government recognition of the Doctor of Medicine Program was granted by the Department of Education in 1952.

Achievements

MHAM College of Medicine, Inc. has fostered excellence in medical education through its curriculum, research, community service, and development. Its strength lies in keeping a roster of dedicated faculty who are experts in their field of specialization and professional health education. Since its inception, the Doctor of Medicine Program has produced many board topnotchers and physicians who have gained distinction in the field of medicine not only in the Philippines but also all over the globe.

The school has produced seven board placers among the ten highest places in the Physician Licensure Examinations for five years in a row since it started to operate in its new location. The school was remarkably hailed as the 3rd Top Performing School for physicians in the country in the March 2019 Physician Licensure Examination.
