Vice President’s Office Provides Aid to Flood Victims in Agusan del Sur

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has distributed food bags to residents affected by flooding in the province of Agusan del Sur. The beneficiaries include the inhabitants of Barangays Caimpugan, Tagapua, San Francisco, and San Marcos in Bunawan.

Led by the OVP’s Caraga Satellite Office, a total of 1,576 families received food bags containing rice, instant noodles, and canned goods. The distribution was simultaneously conducted at the covered courts of Barangays Caimpugan and Tagapua in San Francisco, and at the covered court of Barangay San Marcos in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, on March 6.

The OVP collaborated with the Local Government Unit of Bunawan, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of San Francisco, and officials from Barangays Tagapua, Caimpugan, and San Marcos for the relief operation.

The region experienced heavy rainfall from the end of January through mid-February, leading to the floods that have affected the province.
