The Department of Education (DepEd) has exciting news for aspiring teachers and school administrators! On May 16, 2024, they announced the creation of a significant number of new teaching and School-Based Administrative Officer II (AO II) positions for the upcoming School Year (SY) 2024-2025.
Here's the breakdown:
- 22,323 new teaching items: This includes positions for Kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
- 5,000 Administrative Officer II (AO II) items: These positions are also for Kindergarten to Grade 12 schools.
The DepEd has already requested funding for these new positions from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). While awaiting approval, DepEd field offices are instructed to gear up for the recruitment process. The goal is to achieve a 100% filling rate for these positions before the budget hearing deliberations scheduled for August 2024.
