Malacañang Declares Monday, June 24, 2024 as Special Non-Working Day in Manila

June 19, 2024 - Malacañang declared Monday, June 24, 2024 as a special non-working day in Manila City through Proclamation No. 599, s. 2024. The proclamation was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 19, 2024.

This aims to give residents the opportunity to participate in activities related to the city's 453rd founding anniversary. Manila was established on June 24, 1571.

The "no work, no pay" policy applies on this day, unless a company has its own policy or collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that provides pay.

Employees who work on the special non-working day will be paid an additional 30 percent of their daily wage for the first eight hours and an additional 30 percent of their hourly rate for overtime work.
