Uniformed Personnel Race Through 'Kalayaan Obstacle Course' in Manila

Over 300 uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) went head-to-head in a challenging obstacle course race today, June 11, 2024, at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

The event, dubbed the "Kalayaan Obstacle Course," is part of this year's "Bagong Pilipinas" tradition for celebrating the 126th Philippine Independence Day Anniversary. The theme for this year's celebration is "Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan" (Freedom, Future, History).

Held in cooperation with the Pilipinas Obstacle Sport Federation, the race encouraged participants to showcase their agility and strength as they navigated a 100-meter course filled with obstacles in under three minutes. The course tested their skills with challenges like Offset Steps, Low Crawl, Monkey Bars, Over-Under-Through, Slip Wall, Islands Steps to Rings, High Balance Beams, Four-foot Wall, A-Frame Cargo, and Wave Wall.
