Passion for dance, hard work, and consistency are the secrets to success for the Dazzling Davao Dancing Duo, Francheska Dezzly C. Darvin and Bhenz Rudolf Owen H. Semilla, who triumphed at the Dancesport Competition in the Palarong Pambansa 2024.
"Super thankful and super happy that we won the gold this year," the duo expressed with joy.
Francheska and Bhenz are still in disbelief after their incredible win, having bagged gold medals in the Junior Five Dance Standard Category, Junior Single Dance Waltz, Junior Single Dance Tango, Junior Single Viennese Waltz, and Junior Single Foxtrot.
Their secret to success lies in their consistent training and workout routines. "In the morning, we do our workouts, and then in the afternoon, we train for our dance routines," shared Bhenz.
Beyond dedication, their love for dancing is another driving force behind their achievements. Francheska has been dancing for almost nine years, while Bhenz has been at it for eight years.
Their coach, Ms. Norelee E. Baliña, a first-time Palarong Pambansa coach, expressed her immense gratitude to her athletes for wholeheartedly accepting her.
"I would like to thank these athletes because without them, I wouldn't be here. They accepted me with all their hearts and allowed me to be their coach," Coach Norelee said.
Dancesport debuted this year as a Regular Sport in the Palarong Pambansa. The success of Francheska and Bhenz showcases the potential of this sport in the Philippines.
