Are You Worried About Your Mental Health at Work?

Many workers experience a lack of motivation or drive at work. This can be caused by various factors, including stress, burnout, and feeling unsupported in the workplace.

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) is conducting a study to learn more about the risk factors affecting the mental health of Filipino workers. This study focuses on four specific industries:

  • BPO
  • Food Service Activities (Restaurants & Fast Food)
  • Manufacturing
  • Wholesale & Retail

If you work in one of these industries, we invite you to participate in the ILS survey. Your answers will help them better understand the mental health challenges faced by workers and develop solutions to improve their mental well-being.

Here are some facts about mental health in the workplace:

  • According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression and anxiety cost the global economies trillions of dollars each year due to lost productivity.
  • In the Philippines, an estimated 15% of workers have a mental health disorder.
  • Workers in BPO, food service, manufacturing, and wholesale & retail industries have a higher risk of developing mental health problems compared to those in other sectors.

If you're experiencing symptoms of stress, burnout, or other mental health issues, it's important to seek help. Many resources are available to you, including:

  • Employee assistance programs (EAPs)
  • Mental health hotlines
  • Therapists and counselors

You can also talk to your supervisor or manager about your concerns. Your employer might provide support and resources to help improve your mental health.

Taking care of your mental health is just as crucial as taking care of your physical health. By seeking help and making lifestyle changes, you can improve your mental well-being and become more productive at work.
