EDCOM2 Calls for Improved Coordination in National Nutrition Programs

July 06, 2024 - The Second Congressional Commission on Education (#EDCOM2) held a hearing on the state of nutrition programs in the Philippines. The hearing revealed a lack of coordination between agencies responsible for implementing these programs, including the Department of Health (DOH), the National Nutrition Council (NNC), and the Early Childhood Care and Development Council (ECCD).

EDCOM2 Commissioner and Senator Win Gatchalian emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue, stating, "Once a child is stunted by the time they enter school, it's game over."

EDCOM2 stresses the importance of inter-agency collaboration to ensure the effective delivery of nutrition programs to children.
