GSIS to Launch "Loan Lite" Program, Develop Housing Projects, and Boost Digital Services for Members

July 19, 2024 - The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) announced a series of programs aimed at improving the lives of its members. These include easier access to credit, increased housing options, and a more convenient way to transact with GSIS.

Small Loans Made Easy

Starting October, GSIS will introduce the "Multi-Purpose Loan Lite" program. This program caters to members who need quick financial assistance for emergencies. Loan amounts will range from P5,000 to P50,000 with a one-year repayment term for faster processing and approval.

Building a Brighter Future

In addition to financial aid, GSIS is developing vacant properties into government housing projects. This includes the construction of three high-rise condominiums in Fairview, Quezon City and Cogeo, Antipolo. These condominiums will offer units with a size of approximately 55 square meters.

Going Digital for Convenience

GSIS has nearly completed its digital transformation, with 99% of its services now accessible online. One key feature is the digitized Annual Physical Identification Revalidation (APIR) system. This allows retirees to conveniently revalidate their pensions using a selfie function on their mobile phones. This eliminates the need for them to visit GSIS offices physically, especially beneficial for those with mobility limitations.

Mobile Payments Now Accepted

For added convenience, GSIS members can now make their contributions through mobile wallets like PayMaya. This streamlines the payment process and allows for easier contribution management.

These new programs highlight GSIS' commitment to providing its members with financial security, comfortable housing options, and a more convenient way to access their services.
