August 26, 2024 - In a recent development, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” C. Remulla praised the Philippine National Police (PNP) for their successful rescue of human trafficking victims during the execution of an arrest warrant in Davao City. The rescued individuals are now under police protection following evaluation and assessment by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 11. Secretary Remulla has called on victims, their families, and KOJC members to come forward, assuring them of safety and protection.

He emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration among the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), the PNP, and the DSWD. “I urge all involved agencies to work together to build robust cases against perpetrators and deliver justice to the victims. We must persist in combating this human trafficking crisis that affects our most vulnerable communities,” Secretary Remulla said.
