PhilHealth Implements New, Higher Rate for Hemodialysis

August 02, 2024 - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced on Friday that the new package rate for hemodialysis (HD) is now accessible through its electronic claims submission system (eClaims).

The state-run health insurer said the increased rate of PHP4,000 per session is part of the expanded HD coverage to 156 sessions. To allow healthcare facilities and IT service providers to adjust to the system update, PhilHealth has granted an extension for the submission of HD sessions covering July 1 to 15, 2024. These claims can be submitted until August 25, 2024, without incurring late filing penalties.

The new rate, which took effect on July 1, covers laboratory tests, administrative fees, drugs, and other supplies used during dialysis treatments. PhilHealth assured that the current submission process for HD sessions through eClaims remains unchanged, with any modifications in filing to be announced later.

The increase from the previous PHP2,600 per session aims to provide more financial support to dialysis patients.
