Recognizing Excellence: The 2025 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos Award for Teachers

The Metrobank Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), invites educators across the Philippines to join the prestigious 2025 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos – Award for Teachers. This program celebrates exemplary educators who have gone beyond their duties to inspire and transform lives, alongside soldiers and police officers who demonstrate similar excellence in service.

What Makes This Award Special?

Each year, the Metrobank Foundation recognizes ten outstanding individuals, including four teachers, three soldiers, and three police officers, who have significantly contributed to their professions and communities. Winners receive:

  • A medal, trophy, and a cash incentive of ₱1,000,000 (net of tax).
  • Additional recognition and incentives for national finalists and semi-finalists.

Eligibility for Teachers

This prestigious award is open to both public and private school teachers in elementary, secondary, and Alternative Learning Systems (ALS). Below are the key eligibility requirements:

  • Active Teaching: Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in the Philippines with a full-time or permanent position.
  • Education: Must have earned or completed the academic requirements for a master’s degree within five years of nomination.
  • Performance: Consistent performance ratings of at least Very Satisfactory for the past 10 years.
  • Moral Character: Demonstrated good moral character with no administrative, civil, or criminal convictions.
  • PRC Compliance: A valid or renewed Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID.
  • Service Tenure: At least two years remaining before retirement and no more than two years of leave prior to nomination.

How to Nominate

School Division Offices (SDOs) are required to submit a minimum of three nominees per division (one each for elementary, secondary, and ALS). However, individual schools may also nominate candidates.

Who Can Nominate?

Nominations can be made by school administrators, parents, student leaders, media professionals, business leaders, and other stakeholders. Self-nominations are not allowed.

  2. Certification and Endorsement: Submit the signed Nominator’s Certification and Endorsement Form by January 24, 2025, via bit.ly/2025OF-SubmitCertification.
