DepEd to Administer the National Achievement Test for Grade 6 (NATG6) for SY 2024-2025

The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA), has announced the administration of the National Achievement Test for Grade 6 (NATG6) for the School Year 2024-2025. This initiative is in accordance with DepEd Order No. 55, s. 2016, which sets guidelines for assessing student learning under the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Test Schedule and Coverage

The NATG6 will be conducted on March 31 and April 1-4, 2025. The test will be administered in public and private elementary schools that have the necessary permits. The current Grade 6 learners of the present school year (2024-2025) will be the ones taking the test.

Purpose of the NATG6

The NATG6 serves as an exit assessment to determine if students have met the learning standards in the elementary curriculum. It will evaluate student performance in the following subjects through a multiple-choice format:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Filipino
  • Araling Panlipunan

Language of Testing

The subjects will be assessed in the following languages:

  • English for English, Science, and Mathematics
  • Filipino for Filipino and Araling Panlipunan

Implementation and Test Administration

DepEd has outlined the following steps to ensure smooth administration of the NATG6:

  • Virtual Orientation: The BEA will conduct an orientation for Regional Testing Coordinators, Division Testing Coordinators, and Private School Supervisors to discuss test administration procedures.
  • Paper-Based Testing: The test will be delivered in a paper-based format across regional offices, schools division offices, and participating schools.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Schools must follow health and safety protocols during test administration.
  • Test Material Delivery: An authorized forwarder will manage the transportation of test materials.

Special Accommodations

Learners with disabilities may also be assessed, provided that accommodations outlined in Section 9 of DO 55, s. 2016 are met.
