The Department of Education (DepEd) continues its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for students across the country. In line with this, DepEd has implemented a Weekly Readiness Monitoring system to ensure schools remain prepared for effective teaching and learning.
What is Weekly Readiness Monitoring?
This initiative is in response to DepEd Memorandum No. 028, s. 2024, titled "Conduct of Weekly Readiness Monitoring". It aims to track and assess the preparedness of schools in key areas, ensuring they meet essential criteria for a safe and effective learning environment.

The monitoring process evaluates the following aspects:
Readiness of Teaching Rooms – Availability of desks and comfortable seating, proper lighting, ventilation, and overall classroom conditions.
Readiness of Devices – Ensuring availability and functionality of learning devices, especially for learners with mobility challenges.
Readiness of Internet Connectivity – Accessibility to stable internet service.
Readiness of Power Infrastructure – Ensuring reliable electricity supply.
Readiness of Teachers – Adequate number of teaching staff and proper deployment.
Readiness of School Heads – Effective leadership and supervision to ensure smooth operations.
How Does the Monitoring Work?
The Weekly Readiness Monitoring will be conducted digitally via Microsoft Forms. Schools must submit their updates every Wednesday by 12:00 NN to be included in the weekly consolidation report every Friday.
To categorize readiness, DepEd uses the following assessment levels:
ASSESSMENT-READY – All criteria are fully met; the school is well-prepared.
MINOR ASSESSMENT-READY – Some improvements are needed, but readiness is still acceptable.
MAJOR ASSESSMENT-READY – Significant concerns require intervention and support.
Why is This Important?
This initiative is crucial in ensuring schools are consistently equipped to provide quality education. By regularly assessing readiness, DepEd can identify issues early and provide necessary interventions to improve school conditions.
Roles and Responsibilities
School Heads – Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of reports.
Teachers and Staff – Provide input on school conditions and needs.
DepEd Officials – Review submissions and provide support where needed.
Conclusion
DepEd's Weekly Readiness Monitoring is a proactive approach to maintaining high standards in education. By staying vigilant and continuously improving school conditions, the department ensures that students and teachers can thrive in a safe and conducive learning environment.
