How to Renew Your Professional ID Card (PIC) with the PRC

Renewing your Professional Identification Card (PIC) with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is a straightforward process, whether you’re renewing it for yourself or through a representative. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the renewal process.

Renewing Through a Representative

If you’re unable to renew your PIC in person, you may authorize someone to do it for you. The requirements vary depending on the type of authorization:

  • For PRC-Registered Professionals as Representatives:

    • Authorization Letter
    • Professional ID of the authorized representative
  • For Other Representatives:

    • Special Power of Attorney (SPA)
    • Valid identification of both the professional and the representative

Renewal Requirements for Dual Citizens

If you are a dual citizen, you need to present both the original and a photocopy of any of the following at the Licensure and Registration Division – Regional Office:

  • Oath of Allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines
  • Current and Valid Philippine Passport
  • Identification Certificate recognizing you as a Filipino citizen

If the original copy of these documents is unavailable, a Certified True Copy will be accepted.

For Former Filipino Citizens

Former Filipino citizens who were previously registered with the PRC but later acquired another citizenship must comply with Category F (P.D. No. 541) under PRC Resolution No. 668, series of 2012. The requirements must be submitted to the Licensure and Registration Division – Regional Office.

Annual Registration Fees

The assessment of Annual Registration Fees for CY 2022 applies to all professionals renewing their PIC. Check the PRC website for the exact fees applicable to your profession.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirements

Since 2018, professionals must comply with CPD credit units for PIC renewal.

  • Present CPD Certificates showing the earned credit units upon claiming your PIC.
  • If you haven’t completed the CPD units, you may still renew your PIC by signing an undertaking to complete the required CPD credits for the next compliance period.

The undertaking is included in the online renewal application. Note that this option was only available until December 31, 2018.
