2025 National Folk Dance Workshop and PANUHID: A National Dance Research Forum

The art of folk dance is more than just movement—it is a living, breathing representation of our nation’s rich cultural heritage. This year, the Samahang Tagapagtaguyod ng Katutubong Sayaw ng Pilipinas (Philippine Folk Dance Society), in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the City of Koronadal, and the Province of South Cotabato, will bring together dance enthusiasts, educators, and cultural scholars for an immersive experience in Philippine traditional dances.

A Celebration of Culture and Movement

This highly anticipated 7-day event will serve as a vibrant platform for dancers, teachers, choreographers, and researchers to come together and:

Enhance teaching skills in traditional Philippine and Asian folk dances.
Master dance steps and perform with precision and cultural authenticity.
Access valuable resources on Philippine folk and traditional dances.
Discuss key issues and challenges in the field of folk dance education and performance.

Through an engaging lineup of dance sessions, panel discussions, lecture demonstrations, and competitions, participants will deepen their understanding of our traditional movements and their historical significance. The event will also feature street dance, cultural showcases, regional presentations, a city tour, and a culminating performance, making it a well-rounded experience for all attendees.

Participation and Registration

This event is open to both public and private schools, with participation being purely voluntary. In accordance with DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2024, the activities shall not interfere with instructional time. Likewise, compliance with policies on off-campus activities (DO 66, s. 2017) and the no-collection policy (RA 5546 or Ganzon Law) will be strictly observed.
